It’s not often when I pay much attention to the amount of followers or traffic I get on this blog. I guess it’s safe to say that, after more than ten years of posting pictures and stories while refusing to attract sponsors or feature ads. I’m grateful to have a place to post photos and the occasional story for the folks that find and take the time to tune in. However, the recent finding that the blog is up to and stuck on 666 followers as just a little unsettling. Not that I’m religious or have any crazy superstitions. I just feel a bit unsettled being stuck on this particular number for too long. So, if you could select that follow button and take me off Satans “to-do” list. I’d greatly appreciate it and you. August is already here and the kids will soon be headed back to school. So what better a time than now to start booking a family session close to home and far from the trappings of the local mall and all the blood, sweat and tears that seem to go along with every trip to the local photo studio retailer.

For years now I’ve been aware of Instagram, but had no idea as to what it offered or what I’d find. In all honesty, I thought it was an app. where people uploaded their selfies and pictures of meals from their mobile devices. Thankfully, through conversations with my brother and a close friend who’s been mentoring me. Not only was I open to investigation. I was flat out prepared to dive in to the deep end of the pool. Since opening an account, I’ve been posting regularly and building a small, but steady following. More importantly, I’ve found inspiration and ideas by following my favorite photographers, magazines and modeling agencies. And just as I’ve built a following with Photogeek over the years. through our session. I began to compare color shots with B&W copies I had made. To no surprise, I found myself preferring the B&W versions over and over. Knowing how predominant my love of B&W can be. I thought it would a good idea to get some opinions on the matter. Comments welcome.
