Candy shortage in Hoboken
Halloween 5K
Saturday morning I volunteered in Montclair for the Halloween 5K for Cervical Cancer. I can’t say enough about the volunteers and organizers who devoted their time, money and passion to this event. Raising funds, awareness and eduction for cervical cancer is paramount and it’s people like these who make it happen. To see the hard work, energy and dedication of these amazing people is both inspiring and rewarding. Respect to Mandy, Cristina and all the others that made this possible and for letting me be a part. It’s people like this who helped me realize how much volunteering and being active in your community can be. We can all make a difference.

Me, I Love B&W.
I just love shooting B&W. I love the mood and the contrast. I’ve been getting a lot of headshot work lately which calls for color. I find myself switching to monochrome in between shots. Later, when I show them the results. They often agree that the monochromes are the best shots and portray them in the best light.

But Sometimes they Love Color.
Jenifer Convertible? Are you fucking kidding me?
When I heard Jenifer Convertible were getting together to play the Dromedary showcase I was pretty psyched to say the least. During my time living in Hell’s Kitchen I saw them about a half dozen times and loved them. Their Maxwells set did not tarnish my fond memories in the least. In fact they renewed them. I don’t know if they have plans for more shows. Judging from this one. They certainly haven’t missed a step.

Stuyvesant brings mirth and merriment to the CMJ Festival.
I’ve known Brian for quite a while now but it’s only recently that I’ve been listening to his band Stuyvesant. A couple of months back I sat down with the band and inrterviewed them for my website. Friday night the band was in top form representing Dromedary Records at Maxwells for the CMJ Festival. Brian wore the Elmer Fudd hunting cap and Ralph was his usual nutty self. Check out my interview with them here.

The Mommyheads bring their eccentric wizardry to Maxwells.
Upcoming Dromedary Records Showcase at Maxwells.
This Friday night Dromedary Records will be representing the CMJ festival at Maxwells here in Hoboken. It’s an all Dromedary bill featuring Jennifer Convertible, Shirk Circus, The Mommyheads and of course Stuyvesant. I’m really excited about the show and happy to be covering it for JerseyBeat.com. In the meantime I thought I’d post some images of Stuyvesant. They just recently invaded Maxwells for their record release on Dromedary.

Our Gang @ Santos Party House
I’ve been hearing about Santos Party House for a while now but had never gotten a chance to catch a show there. Hearing that old friends and New York Hardcore Veterans Our Gang were playing with Agnostic Front finally gave the chance to. Our Gang weren’t one of the huge names on the scene back in the 80’s but they were certainly one of the best. Members went on to play with bands such as Born Against, Citizens Arrest, Hell No and Sleeper/Serpico. More than Twenty years after it’s initial release their “Uprising” Demo has finally made it’s way to vinyl. Pick up a couple of copies. Our Gang “Uprising” LP
