Results of Leaving My Camera Behind.

When picking up our car from the Montgomery Mini dealership. Much to my wife’s delight. I left my camera home and decided to let my iPhone handle any such photo opportunities that might come about. While transferring trains at Rockville, Maryland, Shady Grove Station. The opportunity came and instead of digging into my camera bag and finding the right setting for the perfect shot. I whipped out my phone and BINGO! And while my phone will not become my new tool for photography. It’s good to know. I don’t have to pack it in preparation for every trip.

  1. This is a beautiful shot. I recently bought an old ass point and shoot from KEH online, used, and it is tiny and I carry it around in my purse to take pictures. There are times I want to lug my big camera around, but can’t really do that anymore. So phone and old p&s it is.

    1. I can definitely relate. As a photographer, I feel responsible for documenting my travels and experiences. Packing up my camera and gear every time I leave the house has weighed me down while adding stress to my relationships. However, I no longer bring extra lenses or my flash with me. It’s hard to leave home without the camera. Last week, I purchased a Clutch camera strap that I hope will relieve my need for a cumbersome bag and extras, with the first-weekend trip with it behind me. I’m hoping the days of camera bags and all the extras are behind me. We’ll see.
